A Family Road Trip to Shipshewana

The Pumpkinvine Nature Trail officially opened their extended trailhead in downtown Shipshewana, providing visitors with a great way to experience the beautiful countryside, views of Amish farms, and enjoy the great outdoors whether it’s walking, biking, or skating.


It’s always seasonal to visit Shipshewana for the shopping and Amish experiences. The Davis Mercantile boasts a four-story shopping center with their iconic carousel on the top floor, and it’s conveniently located next to Shipshewana’s downtown shops.

Speaking of food, the Shipshewana Trading Place is celebrating their 100th year in what has become the Midwest’s largest flea market. The Blue Gate Restaurant is the go-to restaurant for authentic Amish cuisine and delicious desserts. Shipshewana is an entertainment mecca for musicals, concerts, variety acts, and more at the Blue Gate Music Hall and Blue Gate Performing Arts Center.
