Nestled in the northwest corner of Indiana along the Lake Michigan shoreline is historic Whiting, Indiana. With its beautiful beach and parks, plentiful restaurants, and quirky shops it is a summer destination spot unlike any other in the state. The city of Whiting, famous for its summer events, plays host to parades, concerts, festivals, and a floating water park on Lake Michigan that keep the summer busy. This little city by the lake is now home to its newest family attraction…The Mascot Hall of Fame Children’s Museum!
Opened in 2018, The Mascot Hall of Fame was created to pay tribute to the unsung heroes of sports – the mascots. These funny, furry creatures were created to bring happiness, positivity, and hilarity to the world of sports. It is only fitting that their hall of fame be designed to bring your family the same.
Upon entering the 25,000 square foot museum prepare to be greeted by larger than life mascot heads of our 20 inductees. These floating tributes to the upper echelon of mascots are suspended from 3 stories above and are a definite wow factor for visitors. The inductees as well as many great mascots are honored throughout the museum with artifacts, stories, videos and are integrated into our S.T.E.A.M. based educational exhibits. Follow along with the exhibits to see if you have what it takes to be a mascot! Challenges like “Fit to be Funny” will teach kids what it takes to get healthy, “Mascot Audition” will bring out the performer in everyone and create any mascot your imagination can dream up in the “Mascot Laboratory”!
Immerse yourself into the exciting, colorful, magical world of Mascots. Whether you are a kid – or just a kid at heart, it is a FURTASTIC trip for all!
