There’s plenty of fun to be had for family spring breakers at Jak’s Warehouse, Bellaboo’s Play & Discovery Center and Fair Oaks Farms. Get outdoorsy at the Indiana Dunes National Park as the wildflowers are just beginning their annual bloom which makes for beautiful views and photo opportunities. Check out our year-round campgrounds or cast your reel in one of our many fishing spots.
SUMMER
Cool off at Deep River Waterpark or the beaches along Lake Michigan while you search for colorful beach glass. For a more interactive beach experience, check out WhoaZone at Whihala Beach, which features an adrenaline-pumping, in-water obstacle course. Weekends are jam packed with festivals, concerts and fairs. Grab a seat at a Gary SouthShore RailCats baseball game or experience a piece of history at the Museum at Lassen’s Resort where you can board Indiana’s only operating steamboat and take a ride along Cedar Lake.
FALL
Hike or bike along one of the many trails at the Indiana Dunes or see the seasons change at an idyllic public garden. Spend an afternoon looking for the perfect pumpkin or sipping cider at Harvest Tyme Family Farm or trying to find your favorite beverage along our brewery and winery trails. You can also stroll the historic shops in downtown Crown Point. Don’t miss the annual migration of the Sandhill Cranes or the mystifying bison at Kankakee Sands.
