Anderson’s Winery is the perfect place to stretch out and socially distance while you enjoy a flatbread and a glass of their delicious wine! You can make use of their lovely garden, or take a picnic bag, blanket and bottle of wine, and go out to find your own special spot.
Anderson’s Winery and Vineyard was the first winery north of Indianapolis started in 1993, and sits atop the Valparaiso Moraine on 42 beautiful acres of rolling hills. It was purchased by new owners in 2018 and has been totally renovated top to bottom. With a new wine list, menu, and a shiny new face, Anderson’s is quickly become the go to place for area wine lovers. Located just an hour from downtown Chicago and an easy jog off of either Highway 94 or the Indiana Toll Road, Anderson’s is an easy day trip from anywhere in Northern Indiana, Northeastern Illinois and Southern Michigan.
There’s something for everyone on their menu; dry, sweet, red, white, blush, sparkling, and port styles. A tasting consists of a flight of 4 wines served on a barrel stave holder. For those who prefer a cold beer, there is an impressive list of both domestic and craft beers to choose from. Their food menu includes panini sandwiches, flatbreads, dips, spreads, cheese plates, and several styles of nachos.
Summers are particularly nice at Anderson’s with live music every Saturday and Sunday, in the garden when weather permits, on the massive front porch, or inside their cozy tasting room with a roaring fire if the weather turns cold and rainy.
Anderson’s hosts many special events throughout the year, particularly in the summer. Crafting classes, seminars on various topics, special theme dinners, wine education parties and even an all-day cheesemaking class, are just some of the many activities you will find there. They also host wedding and baby showers, bachelorette parties, birthday parties, and weddings along with various business and charity events.
