Miami County Artisan Gallery Educational Seminars

Miami County Artisan Gallery (MCAG), 20 North Broadway, Peru, IN begins Art Educational Seminars and Workshops, Saturday, August 3rd 1-4PM. This free seminar is the first of a quarterly series (August 3, November 2, 2019 and February 1, May 16, 2020). The goal of this project is to enhance and meet the educational needs of today’s artists and entrepreneurs and support their creative energies. Participants targeted are high school students and adults.

August 3rd theme is Art Media and Technology. The seminar starts with opening speaker, Host Marlene R. Compton MCAG Executive Director. Ms. Compton presents,”Walt Disney: the Father of Animation.”The purpose of the motivational presentation is to give recognition to Disney as an artist and entrepreneur. The goal is to promote and encourage participant’s use of their creative energies.

Workshop One: Entrepreneurial Businesses, Animation & Photo Shop, presented by local Artist & Entrepreneur Aaron Jones, DC. The purpose of the workshop is to demonstrate how todays professionals can use basic technologies to enhance their businesses and personal development. The goal is to demonstrate and encourage the value of todays basic media technology and art.

Mid session refreshments will be available for participants as they enjoy the music of Lisa van der Ploeg, Mezzo-Soprano. She has toured the nation singing “Carmen” and will be premiering her recent CD recording of Walt Disney Songs. Ms.Vander Ploeg, resides now in Logansport, IN as she continues her singing career and teaching voice. It is her goal to share her talents to motivate, inspire and encourage participants at this educational seminar.

Workshop Two: Intro to Animation 101, is presented by Indianapolis, IN Instructors at Wham Bammy Media, Miles Firkins and PatrickBell.Their purpose is to introduce participants to the world of digital graphics. Their information about 3D Animation, Motion Graphics, 2D Animation, and Tools of the Trade will give participants insights in the digital graphics trade. They will see that it can be applied to many forms of media that can be used personally or lead to substantial career opportunities.
