From a family-friendly golf course built on a 100-year-old family farm, to a state-of-the-art golf academy at a high-end resort, Northern Indiana’s Marshall County offers something for golfers of all ages and skill levels. With five outstanding golf destinations, it’s easy to plan a perfect golf getaway.
Swan Lake Resort boasts two courses—the Silver Course with a shorter, more strategic layout, and the Black Course which provides a “championship” experience. Both courses are described as “in country club condition.” The Golf Academy at Swan Lake is an award-winning, state-of-the-art facility offering personalized, customized private or group instruction, club fitting, and fitness options.
Golfers and non-golfers enjoy this 500-acre resort and its amenities—swimming pools, dining, and an array of overnight accommodations including a charming hotel, quaint cottages, rustic cabins, and modern villas. Not surprising, the resort offers “stay and play” packages for the golf lover.
Tri-Way Golf Course is known for being one of the “friendliest” courses in the area, and prides itself on providing a family-friendly golf experience. Built on a family farm that’s been around for more than 100 years, this course offers affordable outings for all ages. Tri-Way has been a family designed, owned, and operated course for over 35 years. The front nine holes provide open and gently rolling fairways and greens, while the back nine holes are more challenging with ample trees and water. This golf course is an 18-hole course with a Par 71.
Boasting a full-stocked pro shop, and practice facilities with chipping and putting areas, Pretty Lake Golf Club has a unique course layout that’s difficult enough to be challenging for serious players, but also enjoyable for newcomers. There’s also a driving range with PGA staff available for lessons. The course’s Sand Trap Bar & Grill is the perfect spot to wind down your day, enjoying food and drinks overlooking scenic Pretty Lake.
Designed by Pete Dye, Mystic Hills Golf Club opened its doors in 1998, and features 18 holes, with each 9 holes playing drastically different. The front nine exhibits features of a traditional, links-style golf course with minimal trees, rolling terrain and larger greens. The back nine exhibits features of a more modern golf course with plentiful trees, large sand traps, long and narrow greens.
The Club is also available for special events, with a 2,400-square-foot “outing” building or 3,000-square-foot club house. They even offer “stay and play” cabins and all-inclusive wedding packages.
Woodbury Golf Course is a beautiful 18-hole public course featuring 6,533 yards to play from the longest tees for a par of 72. You’ll find a splendid course layout with the front and back nine split equally by a driving range and new practice area. The front nine is fairly open with few trees bordering the holes. The back 9 is a bit more challenging with wooded areas and a few hazards. Woodbury Golf Course truly provides a relaxing round of golf that your whole family can enjoy.
