From local artists and musicians to galleries and public art, Kokomo has a variety of art experiences for you to discover.
Find nine large-scale sculptures along the Kokomo Sculpture Walk created by regional and national artists. The sculptures are on display along the Industrial Heritage Trail and Kokomo Riverwalk throughout downtown.
Artist Alley is Kokomo’s first 24/7 outdoor art gallery with artwork changing annually and complete with an art replica of an 1894 Haynes automobile.
You’ll find Artist Alley next to Artworks Gallery, with displays of art from various local artisans and classes held monthly. You can also create your own DIY art including canvas painting and paint your own pottery at local studios.
From quirky to Instagram-worthy, there’s no shortage of public art in Kokomo. Get a pic with KokoMantis, Willie the Whale, or the new Kokomo interactive sculpture. You’ll also find large, colorful murals on numerous buildings and even bridges throughout the community. Many can be discovered along local trails.

Tour Kokomo Opalescent Glass, America’s oldest art glass company. Experience exquisite art glass that is hand-ladled and rolled from a 2,500-degree furnace. Public factory tours offered on select weekdays. Find local handmade gifts all from glass made in Kokomo at the OP Shop. Learn about the inventor of stainless steel, regulated thermostat, multiple alloys and “America’s First Car” at the Elwood Haynes Museum. Then see Old Ben – the world’s largest steer – in Highland Park.

FESTIVALS & EVENTS
From music and art to food and sports, Kokomo is a city that celebrates its rich history and vibrant culture with a variety of festivals and events throughout the year.
Haynes Apperson Festival is held annually in the summer celebrating the city’s rich automotive heritage. Named after local automotive pioneers, this festival features a parade, car shows, live music, sports, carnival rides, and more.
Strawberry Festival ushers in the start of summer with giant strawberry shortcakes along with food trucks, kid’s activities, and an Artsapalooza Art Market. Chocolate Celebration is Kokomo’s sweetest event of the year! Indulge in decadent chocolate treats made by local bakeries and businesses.
Enjoy a weekend of bluegrass during the annual Winding Creek Music Festival, with four days of America’s best bluegrass bands and workshops.
Cheer on the Kokomo Jackrabbits and Kokomo Bobkats, providing fun baseball and basketball game-day experiences at Kokomo Municipal Stadium and Kokomo Memorial Gym.
