The space
Originally this was the carriage house for the Gennett family (previous owners of Starr Piano Co & founders of Gennett Records) and used to store Rose Gennett’s automobile.
In the early 1980’s it was classified as part of an Indiana Landmark, The Gennett Mansion. The Gennett Mansion (also known as “Henry & Alice Gennett Home”) is also part of the “East Main Street–Glen Miller Park Historic District” through the National Registry of Historic Places.
As a carriage house it was utilized to store set pieces for the Richmond Civic Theatre. Then it was renovated into a boutique, a sewing & notions shop, then into an office space.
The main floor features the king bedroom, living room, kitchen/dining room, and full bathroom with a custom walk-in shower. The house even features an electric tankless on-demand water heater.
Upstairs features the loft area with a twin bed (plus trundle) and a sofa in the seating area. Behind the loft is the queen bedroom.
Guests will have the entire house to themselves.
