You might think there’s already plenty to do at Journeyman Distillery, what with lunch, brunch and dining at the Union Hall Restaurant, Tours and Tastings, and the Sea of Monsters Brewery that offers adventuresome beers on tap. But now the owners have added special events that will make a visit to the American Factory location even more enjoyable.
At “Meet the Makers” on Sunday, Oct. 20, from 4 to 5:30 p.m. you’ll have a chance to learn from the people behind the scenes who create the tastes you come here to savor. Greg Winget, head brewer at the Sea of Monsters brewery, will be your host along with founders Bill and Johanna Welter. The free admission comes with tastings of their beers.
On Oct. 26 come and trip the light fantastic at the Halloween Dance Party. Delight in neon lights, a DJ, crazy costumes, specially crafted cocktails and — who knows? — maybe a ghost or two in this historic location.
You won’t want to miss the Autumn Artisan Market at the American Factory on Nov. 9th and 10th. Support local creatives while you do some holiday shopping. Stroll through the factory with a cocktail while you check out makers of jewelry, gourmet food, handmade décor items and lots more.
Speaking of holidays, be sure to mark your calendar for the Santa Christmas Brunch on Sunday, Dec. 15. Bring the kids to take part in cookie decorating and having their photo taken with Santa. The whole family will enjoy brunch favorites such as scrambled eggs and waffles along with a selection of meats from the carving station, salads, desserts and a special kids’ menu.
Then come back on New Year’s Eve to ring in 2025 with your friends. Dance the night away at this ticketed DJ’d event, purchase cocktails from the bar and drink a Champagne toast at midnight. The VIP experience for this event includes appetizers and cocktails before the big event gets underway. For more information visit: www.journeyman.com
