After launching nearly two years ago, Schnitz Brewery in Jasper is making a name for itself as one of the top breweries in the state. A prodigy of the Schnitzelbank, Southern Indiana’s German-style restaurant, owned by the Hanselman family since 1961, the brewery features four craft beers and one seasonal brew.

Born and raised in Huntingburg, Indiana, Head Brewer Wayne Patmore is an Army veteran who served in Germany, where he says he learned what beer should taste like. As an award-winning home brewer, he was tapped to take the helm of Schnitz Brewery and in May of 2015 left his former job and hasn’t looked back.
