West Lafayette’s newest high-end dining destination, Boilerhouse Prime, will officially open for dinner service to the public on Wednesday, April 9, and is now accepting reservations HERE. Boilerhouse Prime is a classic American steakhouse, located in the Pete Dye Clubhouse on the Birck Boilermaker Golf Complex, offering a refined experience that celebrates the intertwined legacies of Purdue University and its golfing legends and visionaries.
The steakhouse will be open daily, beginning with bar service and happy hour at 4:30 PM, followed by full dining room service at 5 PM. It features a premium, unique-to-Lafayette raw bar, a curated selection of classic cocktails—including the Boilerhouse Smoked Manhattan—and an impressive wine program showcased by a stunning 450-bottle wine wall. Guests can also explore an exclusive bourbon collection, adding to the refined experience.
The Boilerhouse Prime menu will showcase USDA Prime, Linz Heritage, American Wagyu, and A5 Japanese Wagyu cuts, with many Wagyu selections sourced directly from White Lodging’s Brush Creek Ranch in Wyoming. Other menu highlights include:
- Grand Plateau – a highlight of the raw bar menu featuring Oysters, Colossal Shrimp, Alaskan King Crab, Lobster Cocktail.
- A5 Hot Stone Wagyu – thinly-sliced wagyu seared tableside on a sizzling hot stone, delivering a melt-in-your-mouth experience.
- Ora King Salmon Wellington – served with baby spinach, wild mushroom and a made-from-scratch puff pastry.
- Tableside Baked Alaska – flambéed to perfection, featuring rich chocolate gelato, light vanilla cake, and a dramatic finish with overproof rum.
Boilerhouse Prime will be led by General Manager Shane Keeton and Executive Chef Kevin Wemlinger. Wemlinger has over 30 years of fine-dining experience including Morton’s The Steakhouse in Scottsdale, Arizona and 1933 Lounge in Fishers, Indiana, and grew up in West Lafayette. Keeton is a veteran steakhouse leader with experience at Jeff Ruby Culinary Entertainment and Lighthouse Restaurant.
“The opportunity to introduce such a high-end steakhouse to this community is tremendous,” said Keeton. “Diners should expect Boilerhouse Prime to deliver a level of experience and quality that meets, if not surpasses, the best steakhouses in the country.”

Named after iconic Purdue Boilermakers, the steakhouse pays homage to the traditions and pride of the Boilermaker community. The concept was developed by, and will be managed by, White Lodging, the same Indiana-based hospitality company that operates The Union Club Hotel at Purdue Memorial Union, 8Eleven Modern Bistro, Boiler Up Bar, Leap’s Coffee and The Spa Union Club Hotel. The restaurant is one of the highlights and anchors of the new Pete Dye Clubhouse that will open on the complex, which features two championship level golf courses, later this year.
“White Lodging continues to bring first-class hospitality to Purdue, and Boilerhouse Prime is yet another example of their commitment to excellence, and Purdue Athletics is excited to work with them as a partner in this venture,” said Deputy Athletics Director, Ken Halpin. “Combined with two of the highest ranked collegiate golf courses in the country, it is only fitting that our new state-of-the-art clubhouse will include a dining experience that is on par with our two championship caliber golf courses. We’re so excited to see this project coming to life and trust that the Purdue and Greater Lafayette community will enjoy the enhancements to the golf course operations along with having a high-end dining experience added to our community.”
As the latest addition to White Lodging’s growing presence at Purdue, Boilerhouse Prime builds on the company’s successful track record on campus.
“White Lodging has been a quality partner to Purdue University for years, and we have been very impressed with the successful management of their concepts inside the Purdue Memorial Union,” said Jessica Robertson, associate vice president for Purdue Auxiliary Services. “We look forward to the evolution of our partnership and are eager to see the opening of the Boilerhouse Prime.”
Boilerhouse Prime will be open to the public and club members for dinner service daily at 4:30pm for bar service and happy hour, and main dining at 5 pm. Hours of operation are 5 pm – 10pm Monday – Thursday, 5 pm – 11 pm Friday and Saturday, and 5 pm – 9 pm on Sundays. The steakhouse can seat up to 200 with private dining rooms available for groups, events and special celebrations.
