Eleven new murals are being brought to life during the Wayne County Mural Program Competition. Artists from as far away as Germany and Canada are creating these towering illustrations. Once completed by August 31st, the project will bring the total number of murals in the county to one hundred.
Pamela Bliss, the WCMP Program Manager who has painted numerous murals in Wayne County and other Indiana cities, stated, “Not everyone goes to an art museum. Murals aren’t something the common person sees every day. It’s larger than life, so it pulls you in.”
The competition is funded through the Wayne County’s Hoosier Enduring Legacy Program (HELP), the Wayne County Foundation, and the Wayne County Convention & Tourism Bureau, Inc. with program implementation managed by Pamela Bliss, WCMP Program Manager and the Wayne County Convention and Tourism Bureau, Inc.
