Seeing a new place from a new vantage point seems to be something Visit Wabash County (VWC) has discovered and is using to enhance the visitor experience. Offering the use of a 36-passenger trolley for special occasions and events, the tourism team at VWC is accepting reservations for what they call Trolley No. 85.
Named after Wabash County’s listing as the 85th county in the state, the historic- looking vehicle features mahogany trim and waterfall-bench seating. Trolley No. 85 is ADA-compliant and air-conditioned, making it ideal for tours that take visitors around the county and to rent as for the perfect photo-op for special occasions.
“Trolley No. 85 serves as a unique people- mover that makes any event more memorable,” said Tourism Manager Jennifer Long-Dillon for Visit Wabash County. “From weddings to custom tours, the trolley complements every event.”
Planning a convention, conference, bachelorette party, class reunion or birthday party, anniversary or retirement gathering? Or maybe you just want to get together with friends for an adventure. Let Jennifer at VWC create a custom tour just for you. And if your event is outside of Wabash County, no worries. An experienced driver will bring the trolley to you.
A group from outside of Wabash County recently requested a custom waterfall and history tour as part of their marriage retreat while visiting the area. The participants got to explore nature preserves, capture stunning photographs of beautiful waterfalls, learn a bit of Wabash County history and share an outdoor adventure as a couple.
Trolley No. 85 is also an efficient and entertaining way to move wedding parties from the ceremony to the reception and serves as a creative backdrop to traditional wedding photos.
Custom tours such as these can include whatever kind of refreshments the organizers want. From coffee to cocktails, everything is provided by local restaurants with all the details being handled by the VWC team.
“We can customize the food and beverage right along with the experiences,” Long-Dillon said.
As a distinctive incentive, anyone who reserves Trolley No. 85 for a special event or custom tour between now and the end of 2022 will receive a $100 discount.
Along with private use of the trolley, VWC offers ticketed trolley tour experiences all year long. Each tour focuses on a different aspect of what the county has to offer. This year visitors are getting to see waterfalls, historic renovated homes, wildflower gardens and farms, with a spooky Boos and Brews event in October and a visit with Santa in December.
Whether you’re coming to explore Wabash County or getting ready to host a gathering, let Visit Wabash County enhance your experience on board Trolley No. 85.
