A girlfriends getaway is all about reconnecting, relaxing and unwinding from the busyness of everyday life. Carmel is home to a number of easy to find spas and salons to pamper you. Each offers a different twist – from a glass of wine to a patio setting, soft music and even softer robes – to give you and your girls the break you deserve.
After a day of relaxation, there are plenty of fun offerings to help distract you at Carmel’s beautiful and thriving Arts & Design District, home to art galleries, shops and restaurants; and Carmel City Center, where you will find boutiques, gourmet coffee shops and great restaurants with a vista that overlooks Carmel’s beautiful Palladium and Center for the Performing Arts.
These booming Districts are home to a number of popular outdoor events and festivals centered around art, food, wine, music and international culture. Before you make your plans, check the calendar to see what is happening in Carmel and plan your trip to coincide with your favorite event.
Get your fill of music and theater, at Carmel’s Center for the Performing Arts, home to The Palladium, a 1,600-seat concert hall that hosts major national and international performers each season in one of the most beautiful concert halls in America. The Center is also home to the Tarkington Theater and The Studio Theater, which presents productions from a number of Resident Companies throughout the year.
Want to burn off some energy while you’re in Carmel? Make sure you check out the Monon Center, where day passes are available to take advantage of first-class exercise facilities, gymnasium activities and both an indoor pool and The WaterPark outdoor recreation complex.
Carmel is also home to more than 170 miles of trails and pathways, enough to satisfy both the casual rider and the serious, long-road cyclists. Thanks to Carmel’s new city bike-share program, you can leave your bikes at home and conveniently use the bike share system using your cell phone at one of several locations throughout Carmel.
There is so much to do, consider an overnight stay with a variety of lodging options available including luxury hotels along the Meridian Street Hospitality Corridor and a bed & breakfast, nestled in the Arts & Design District.
